Program Structure

Without a structured game plan, even the most talented credit analysts can feel stuck, grinding for years on an uncertain development path all on their own. Traditional finance education doesn't prepare analysts for the rigorous demands of the seat and PMs rarely have time to devote to training juniors.

Credit Academy replaces years of learning by osmosis with a comprehensive training program covering three core areas of development:

01

Credit Foundations

The core skills behind credit analysis

  • Fundamental credit analysis
  • Credit modeling
  • Credit document analysis
  • Research process fundamentals

Build the base every credit analyst needs to have

02

Advanced Credit Strategies

  • Distressed credit
  • Event-driven and opportunistic credit
  • Performing high yield
  • Direct lending

Develop fluency across major credit investing strategies

03

Credit AI

Tools and frameworks for faster work

  • Agentic AI fundamentals
  • Credit specific AI workflows
  • Shipped skills.md files
  • Live build sessions

Use AI and live feedback to strengthen analysis and execution

Without vs. With Credit Academy

Without a structured process...

  • You waste years building frameworks that could have been built in months
  • Your development stays jagged and episodic
  • You're overlooked as expectations climb while your process doesn't
  • Credibility with your PM and team erodes
  • Your self-belief takes a hit
  • Compounding earnings are delayed by years

With Credit Academy, you...

  • Avoid learning costly mistakes the hard way
  • Advance your career instead of stagnating
  • Develop institutional frameworks that decision makers look for
  • Become a real investor instead of a hopeful observer
  • Build credibility that opens doors
  • Compress years of learning into months

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need prior credit experience?

No, but those new to credit are encouraged to be heavy users of office hours and our questions mail bag. Though we cover the core credit investing fundamentals at the beginning of the program, the learning curve is quite steep as we progress to the more advanced domain-specific parts of the program.

Do I need to complete the entire program in 6 months?

You can complete the program at your own pace and the slides and model/memo templates are downloadable. Once you register, you have access to all content for a full 12 months, meaning you can work through the material as slowly or as quickly as you want.

What if I am behind on content, can I still ask questions at office hours?

Yes. We have an “any question, any time” philosophy for office hours. Ask whatever’s on your mind, whether you’ve finished the module or not.

What’s the difference between Credit Academy and Analyst Academy?

While the Analyst Academy has an equity focus, Credit Academy was designed specifically to develop credit analysts for institutional buyside credit roles. The Credit Academy has a separate curriculum but does draw on certain content relevant to both equity and credit from the Analyst Academy.

What if I can’t make office hours due to timezone or schedule?

All live sessions are recorded and available for replay. We also have a mail bag where students can submit questions in advance and review the answers later.

Will I get a certificate for completing Credit Academy?

Yes, all graduates receive a certificate of completion from Fundamental Edge.

Can I pay for this with soft dollars?

Yes, Fundamental Edge accepts soft dollars.
