Fundamental Edge is seeking an experienced buy-side investor and AI practitioner to help develop and lead AI instruction across its investment training programs.

The ideal candidate combines institutional investing experience, a strong teaching ability, and a track record of building useful AI workflows for investment research. That experience may come from applying AI within an investment role or from continued work building with AI after leaving the buy-side.

The focus is practical: helping investment professionals use AI to improve research productivity, deepen analysis, and make better-informed decisions. Advanced coding or software development experience is not required.

The role

You will work with the Fundamental Edge team and program instructors to shape and deliver AI instruction across the curriculum. Responsibilities include:

• Identifying high-value applications of AI across investment workflows, including idea generation, company research, financial modeling, and earnings season.
• Building, testing, and teaching practical workflows that investment professionals can apply in their own work.
• Delivering live instruction through public webinars and cohort sessions.
• Developing and updating demonstrations, exercises, and instructional materials as AI capabilities evolve.
• Evaluating AI tools and explaining their strengths, limitations, and appropriate uses.
• Contributing to vendor relationships, product reviews, and educational partnerships.

Required experience

• Institutional buy-side investing experience.
• Demonstrated experience building and applying AI workflows for investment research and analysis.
• Experience teaching, training, or coaching students or investment professionals.
• Ability to translate complex tools and workflows into clear, actionable instruction.
• Capacity to collaborate with the FE team and program instructors on an ongoing basis.

• Evaluating and working with a range of AI tools.
• Leading or supporting AI adoption at an institutional buy-side firm.
• Familiarity with AI vendors serving investment professionals.

Fundamental Edge is seeking an experienced buy-side investor and educator to help build and lead Modeling Academy, a practical financial modeling program for early-career equity analysts and professionals transitioning from MBA programs, sell-side research, and investment banking.

The program will teach analysts to build, update, and use institutional-grade financial models quickly and effectively. Students will learn the underlying modeling logic, develop sound forecasting judgment, and build repeatable workflows they can apply across sectors.

Instruction will combine hands-on model building, real company case studies, and practical applications of AI modeling tools.

The role

You will help shape the curriculum and serve as a lead instructor, with responsibilities including:

• Developing and recording lessons, model demonstrations, and practical exercises.
• Teaching core modeling principles, sector-specific considerations, and the connection between operating assumptions, financial forecasts, and investment decisions.
• Integrating AI tools into modeling workflows while teaching students to evaluate and validate the output.
• Helping source, interview, and prepare guest speakers.
• Hosting monthly office hours to answer questions and work through modeling challenges.
• Collaborating with the Fundamental Edge team on program production and selected marketing activities.

Required experience

• Institutional experience building and updating public-equity financial models at a fundamental buy-side investment firm.
• Experience teaching, training, or coaching students or investment professionals.
• Practical experience applying AI tools to financial modeling.
• The ability to explain complex concepts clearly and translate investing experience into structured, actionable instruction.
• Capacity to develop and record a rigorous curriculum on a defined production schedule.

• Modeling public equities across multiple sectors and business models.
• Creating courses, internal training programs, or other educational materials.
• Helping analysts transition from academic, sell-side, or investment banking models to models designed for buy-side investment decisions.

This is a contract role with revenue-share compensation. Location is flexible.
